Road Collapses at Surwar Chowk Following Torrential Rain, Traffic Severely Disrupted

Okara, Pakistan: Heavy rainfall has caused a major road collapse at Surwar Chowk in Okara, creating serious traffic disruptions and posing safety risks for commuters.

According to eyewitnesses, the damaged section of the road developed deep cavities after the torrential rain, causing several small and large vehicles to become trapped. The situation has led to significant traffic congestion, with motorists struggling to pass through the affected area.

Local residents reported that no municipal or district administration teams were present at the site immediately after the incident. Citizens were seen working together to pull stranded vehicles out of the damaged road using their own resources.

The collapsed roadway has increased the risk of further accidents, particularly during peak traffic hours and in poor visibility caused by continuing rainfall.

Residents have urged the local administration to take immediate action by dispatching heavy machinery to repair the damaged road, restore the traffic flow, and ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians.

Authorities are expected to assess the damage and begin repair work to prevent further disruption and reduce the risk of additional accidents.
