Rice Farmers Prepare for Upcoming Sowing Season

Okara, Punjab: Farmers across Okara district have started preparing their fields for the upcoming rice cultivation season, with agricultural activities gaining momentum in rural areas.

The Agriculture Department has advised growers to use certified seed varieties and follow recommended farming practices to achieve better yields and improve grain quality. Officials also emphasized the importance of proper land preparation and efficient water management.

Farmers stated that preparations are progressing steadily, although rising input costs remain a major concern. The prices of fertilizers, diesel, and agricultural machinery have increased, placing additional financial pressure on growers.

Agricultural experts noted that timely sowing and the adoption of modern farming techniques can significantly improve productivity while reducing production costs. They also encouraged farmers to seek guidance from local agricultural extension offices.

As rice remains one of Pakistan’s major export crops, experts believe that a successful cultivation season in Okara will contribute positively to the country’s agricultural output and export earnings.
